Effective MEP handover connects installed systems with the people who will operate and maintain them. Make clear what was installed and checked, which documents are included and what remains open.
Documentation people can use
Collect equipment schedules, available manufacturer information, approved record drawings, test records and maintenance guidance within the agreed scope. Identify the current version and where each item is stored.
Training and open items
Include operator familiarization with equipment and controls in the handover plan. Track open items with an owner and next action so follow-up is clear to everyone.
Make the handover usable
Agree on the handover package early. Depending on contract scope, this may include equipment schedules, available manufacturer documents, approved record information, test records, operating guidance and a list of open items with owners.
Connect commissioning with maintenance
Record which systems were checked, what remains outstanding and where the current documents are kept. Operator familiarization and service access can be included in the handover plan when they are part of the agreed scope.
