A good handover is the result of good preparation. Run through the points below
before start-up.

## Installation check

Equipment and routes are installed per the drawings, supports and connections are
complete and access around the equipment is clear.

## Tests and settings

Carry out the tests the project documents call for and record the results. Initial
equipment settings are made at this stage too.

## Operator briefing

The facility’s representative should know how to start and stop the equipment, what
signs to watch for and when to call.

## Handover documents

Hand over as-built drawings, equipment manuals, test results and the recommended
service list.

## Snag list

Write down the remaining items, name an owner and a date for each, and get sign-
off once they are closed.
