# Coordinating facility installation with the construction programme

Many installation problems come from coordination that happens too late. A few simple
habits can remove a large share of them.

## Penetrations through the building

Settle the position and size of penetrations before building elements that are hard
to alter later are completed.

## Review routes together

Check pipe, duct and cable routes on one shared drawing so clashes are found before
installation.

## Equipment delivery timing

Large equipment must arrive before its access route is closed. Record this in the
construction programme.

## Regular meetings and change records

A short, regular meeting between contractors and a written record of every change
prevents later confusion.
